Brigham Nevenner Holbrook, known to his friends and family as "Ven" died January 16, 1996 in Santa Barbara, California from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Ven was born August 25, 1952 in Los Angeles, California, but the world was his playground, and he spent his childhood in Thailand, Holland, Argentina, Poland and Utah. He was an Eagle Scout, and active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He earned a Bachelor's degree in both American History and Journalism from the University of Utah, and received a Master's degree in Journalism from the University of Michigan. His special talents in the field of writing and public relations brought him to Santa Barbara, where he had been Director of Public Relations at The Music Academy of the West for the past eight years. It was here that his love for music grew and flourished. Ven's love of life and sense of humor will not be forgotten.Ven is survived by his wife, Susan Moore Holbrook; five sons, Joe, Ryan, Brett, Todd and Von; his mother, Betty Alice Holbrook, father, Brigham Garn Holbrook, three brothers, West, Bard, and Kurt Holbrook and one sister, Tracy Holbrook.

A viewing will be held at the Holbrook Funeral Home, 3251 So. 2300 East at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 23. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Wasatch Memorial Park.

A trust fund has been set up for the Holbrook children. Donations may be sent to Santa Barbara Bank & Trust, 299 N. Fairview Avenue, Goleta, California 93117 and should be earmarked for the "Holbrook Family Fund".
