No mention of East High in the obituary, but this appears to be our classmate:

Richard Brent Sebrands

Richard Brent Sebrands 12/30/51 ~ 5/14/06 Our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Richard Brent Sebrands, passed away suddenly on May 14, 2006, surrounded by his family. Richard was born December 30, 1951 to Kay and Lola Sebrands at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. He has always been an avid reader and had a strong desire for knowledge and learning. He passed this desire for learning on to his children. Richard served his country, in the army as an MP. He was very positive and had a strong love for country and family. He worked for the USPS as a postal carrier for many years, was devoted to his work and loved by his customers. Richard married the love of his life, and best friend Diana Blain in 1990. They were sealed for time and all eternity to each other and their children in the Manti Temple. He was an active member of the LDS Church and was dedicated to his calling in the scouting program. There was nothing that Richard enjoyed more than going camping with Diana, the kids and grandkids. He loved to fish and hike. He instilled this love for the outdoors in his children and grandchildren. He especially liked going out into the desert, in search of cacti, rocks, lizards and snakes. He had such an energy and zest for life. We will miss his singing in the morning, his infectious laugh, his beautiful smile, his kidding and joking. We love you! Richard was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Stuart. Survived by wife, Diana, children: Quintin (Janae), Devin, Daniel, Kaylee, sister: Susan (Drew) Hamilton, grandchildren: Tyler, Sarah, Alexander, Mia and Marli. Funeral services Thursday, May 18, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in Emerson Ward Chapel, 1621 S. 1100 E. There will be a viewing Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, and at the church Thursday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Lindon City Cemetery, Lindon, Utah. Online condolences at www.larkinmortuary.com
