Barbara Ann Harris Foulger 

1952-2022 

Holladay, UT—"A Mother is one who can take the place of all others but whose place no one else can take." 

Barbara Ann Harris Foulger was a force of nature, and to nature she returned on June 26, 2022. Born February 21, 1952, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. 

Barb attended East High School where she developed lifelong friends who were with her to the very end. She was in dance club and later enjoyed weekly square dances. Barb briefly attended Rick's College in Idaho Falls and then the University of Utah, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. As a young woman Barb enjoyed skiing, camping, and anything outdoors. Throughout her life she learned to play the Auto Harp and often held music parties with her friends. She also sewed, learned to knit, and made amazing aprons and baby blankets. Every Wednesday Barb played Bridge at the Salt Lake Country Club with a group of wonderful people. Her favorite place was our family cabin at Hebgen Lake, Montana where she would invite friends, or just spend time alone enjoying the serenity she found there. At home she hosted great parties, always had impeccable decorations for holiday dinners, and loved being surrounded by her friends and family. Barb was fiercely herself, knew exactly what she wanted in life, and held strong to love and family. 

Barb loved her children and was deeply attached to her dog Finn. She was sometimes referred to as Bear in her inner circle due to her loyalty and protection of those close to her. She had a contagious sense of humor and could make anyone laugh. There was a unique power in her to make a story become reality. This she did through encouragement, guidance, and even raw force of will. Barb taught everyone to love with their whole being through her example. When she shined her light on you it was brighter than the sun. She was a beacon to the lost in death as in life. Hope to the hopeless, and always excelled at whatever she did. Her final act of kindness was to task all who remember her to be kind to one another. 

Barb is preceded in death by her mother Frances Evelyn Davern Harris, and father Dr. Alvin Edward Harris, Jr. Her Uncle, Quinton (Ruth Ann) Harris, and Uncle David Valen. Also, her adored nephew, William Adam Naisbitt, and great nephew Skylar Michael West. 

She is survived by her partner, confidant, husband, and friend of almost 41 years David Foulger. Her four children; Jennifer Foulger, Stephanie (Kevin) Lavin, Carter Foulger, and Emilee (Spencer) Noble. Her three grandchildren; Cole, Ireland, and Banks. Seven siblings and countless nieces and nephews. Aunts Ardis Valen and Patricia (John) Herrmann, and several cousins. Her friends were also considered family and so many will miss her deeply. 

A Wake will be held in Barb's honor at the end of August. Date to be announced. As a family we want to thank you for the love, support, and dedication showed to our mom in her last moments. She is sorely missed and loved beyond words.
