Marc Goodwin

October 16, 1952 ~ February 26, 2013

CARMEL VALLEY - Marc Goodwin, 60, passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 after a lengthy illness. Marc was born October 16, 1952
in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the fourth of seven children born to Sara Crawford del Castillo and Ernest William Goodwin, both deceased. He
served in the U.S. Air Force following high school, and then went on to obtain his bachelor's degree from UNLV and his Juris Doctor from the McGeorge School of Law.

In 1997, he opened his own business, Marc Goodwin Insurance Services, with a desire to be an advocate for the agricultural community of the Salinas Valley. He served his clients passionately as though they were family, and many will remember him as such. Outside of his office he was a loving father and a beloved friend. Marc was equally active in his community by serving as Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus and as district President of King City Little League and a lifelong supporter of the Young Farmers and Ranchers Association and 4H. He was an avid sportsman who loved riding horses, fishing, hunting, sailing, and flying.

Marc is survived and missed by his two children: son, Drew and his wife, Rie of Los Angeles, and daughter, Savannah of Santa Cruz; along with his step-mother, Mrs. Marie Doyle Goodwin of King City; as well as siblings, Rafael, Gregory, Rebecca, Peter, and Stephanie; many adoring nieces and nephews; and his chocolate labrador, Champ. He was preceded in death by his eldest brother, William.

Please join us in a celebration of Marc's life on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 11:00am, to be held at 23616 Parker Rd., Salinas, CA.

In honor of Marc's love of animals, we ask that any donations be made in his name to the SPCA for Monterey County.
